    Default Remembering Wizard

I don't know if everyone already knows this and I am the last to find out or if no one knows yet but Wizard died 2 days ago on November 14. I don't know any of the details. I just stumbled across it while on Facebook. Her sister posted it on her FB page. I am right now stunned but welling up with tears. I just talked to her a few days ago and it seems so unreal....I can't imagine OP without her. She is and was so loved and will be missed more than words can say.

I wish I had someone to talk to about this. I tried going in the other room to talk to my husband twice and both times feel myself getting overwhelmed with emotions and know I won't be able to speak. I guess I just need to sit with this and process it.

I talked to her three or four days ago and was wondering why she had been so silent -- she was a very kind-hearted woman and way too young for this --
    she will be sorely missed.

I wondered why she didn't get back to me either when it was she who initiated a call to me but I wasn't feeling well so I cut it short and said we would talk the following day. I never got her on the phone and I think that was the day she died. She had emailed me that she was feeling really bad around the 10th. She had so many health problems, no immune system to speak of, something she was born with. She was a couple years younger than me. Today is the birthday of someone else I was close to that died and it just seems like too many people I care about are dying. Guess we better get braced for more because the older we get the more loved ones we lose.

Wizard will leave a big gap in OP. There are lots of good people here but only one Wizard.

When I saw this thread I got that sick, upside down feeling in my stomach. I read this forum every single day and the compassion, humor, understanding and tolerance Wizard displayed was evident in every post she made. I have no clue how the more experienced members who knew her well must feel. If I feel this way inside, you guys must feel indescribable. This forum truly is a family. May you rest in peace Wizard.

I can't talk about it to the people around me that I know and love and there are people here who knew her better and longer than I did but I don't think you can quantify feelings that way. Wizard won people's hearts very quickly. She and I clicked and I always knew she had my back and I tried to have hers. I have emailed her sister and hope to be able to share more information with you all. I know it won't change anything but it sometimes helps to get a little closure when you know what happened....when I read @MissMarie 's post I just burst into tears.....she said it all.

Here is what her family knows so far. Ialso asked if there is anywhere we could send donations to help with expenses and if I could share that with the forum members. I just told her it was a chronic pain forum.

I am just pasting the email from her sister here:

"As you may know she lived with our dad. On Saturday morning he found her unresponsive on the floor in her room. He called 911 but they could not revive her. We will not get the autopsy report for several weeks. Her pain has gotten progressively worse over the last year or so and I know she has been seeking relief from that through some conventional and unconventional ways.
I am her older sister. We also have a younger brother who is here now helping with arrangements. We are greatly saddened by her untimely death but we are also comforted by the fact that she is in heaven and free from her physical and emotional pain.

You are welcome to share this info with any of her friends. If you have any other questions let me know.

    Thanks for loving her."

Here is the latest info on donations from her sister and I will post the info when she gets it to me:

"Regarding donations - we are setting up something with one of the animal related charities. Wizard is a great lover of animals and has rescued many over the years.

It is sweet and thoughtful of you to ask about expenses but we are covered in that area."

I am in total shock! Wizard has always managed to get through whatever health problem that she encountered. She has always been in great pain with several medical conditions that she has dealt with since birth.

I have to know that she is now in a much happier place and no longer in constant pain.

her happy and helpful attitude belied the amount of pain that she has always endured. She will be missed by all of us. Each in our own ways.

Better times are ahead Wizard. You have just started on your new journey. Enjoy the trip.

Her sister wrote this email for us all:

"Just knowing you and the others care about her is very comforting.

I will send the donation info soon. If you don't get it in the next couple days please remind me ."

Here are some words of wisdom a friend of mine shared on the subject:

"If we live long enough we will experience great loss.

Embrace the richness of life while acknowledging its impermanence."

So sorry to hear this. I didn't know her well as I'm fairly new to this forum, but she seemed to be a great mod who ran a tight ship, protecting the members here. Warmest thoughts to all of you.

Oh no. Our Wizard gone... I can't find the words to say what I feel. Wizard was a solid person. Helpful, kind, always upbeat. Her pain has ended, but I'll miss her. Go in peace Wizard. :'(

Wow, such a sad thing to hear... I didn't know her except from her posts and chatter here, but it sounds like many of you were very good friends with her. My condolences to all her friends here and her family.

As sad as this is, I like to believe she is now in a better place on a higher spiritual plane.
I just dropped in..., to see what condition my condition was in
