I think your doctors are taking a very measured approach and in my mind that would be a good thing. As far as those new meds, I take metoprolol tartrate and Flurosemide for high blood pressure and they aren''t
too bad. The dizziness could be from the praxada and you should monitor that.

You have the BP machine so you're set. Based on the meds they have given you, they must feel you aren't doing too bad which buys them time to check out the afib.

If I can help, just let me know.
    Get well.

I've never heard of major problems either (albeit that is anecdotal)

The days of thinking that I am immortal are far gone and I am now a bit worried that I may have done permanent damage that cannot be fixed.

Hell, if I had realized that I would end up living this long I may have taken better care of my body. I hope that I am making sense right now as these meds are making me dizzy as hell and a bit fuzzy in the head.

Happy Holidays to everyone and I hope that we all have a better year to come.

@Westend What you said about life choices and feeling immortal and possible
damage done resonates with me.Have led similar life for last thirty years.
I know one day a change will finally curtail such a lifestyle.

Don't count your self out as you are still being assessed. If your AFib is treatable
via ablation there is a very high chance of success in this procedure. This might
all turn out to be not as serious a situation as you may imagine.

You will never be sure your lifestyle led to the current situitation.
Don't regret the care free immortal days as they were probably fun and there
is plenty of time to "be good" going forward. Ultimately the same end awaits us all.

Obviously, I know nothing about any good, or bad lifestyle choices you may, or may not have made, though I’m intimately familiar with the choices I’ve
made throughout my own life; many, not prudent in retrospect. Having said that, stop beating yourself up! Atrial Fibrillation, like Benign Prostatic
Hyperplasia, or osteoarthritis is a disease pathology wholly dependent on someone having lived long enough to experience the “ joy “ that is getting older.

Lots, if not most patients I’ve treated with A-Fib made all the right choices in life, and as such, lived long enough to be plagued
( or more accurately, irritated ) with A-Fib. You did NOTHING to get A-Fib except not die foolishly when you were much younger, and that’s a good thing.

For better or worse, life results in death 100% of the time; no exceptions. Most of our health ills are a function of genetics, luck and yes, sometimes,
lifestyle choices can impact certain aspects of our health. Educate yourself about your condition, ask questions and demand clear answers to same.

Life your life. Who wants to be the healthiest corpse in the graveyard? 🤣
“No one in this world, so far as I know.... has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby." H.L. Mencken

I,m not sure of there being plenty of time to be good going forward. I will be the big "70" this year and that is not a long road to be good going forward. I have pretty much abused my body for too many years as it is.

As the GD says......What a long strange trip it's been. Long Strange Trip.jpg

@Westend I am only a few years behind you. We might have a lot in common regarding questionable habits. This site is clearly your passionate hobby project.I have seen you happy and highly functional here. We all wind up in the same place in the end. In the mean time don't count your self out yet. I think there are still good times ahead.
