Default Hope I can get a few replies...GF is trippin cause of drug test - suboxone

Instead of trying to post in my words what she wanted me ask, I got her to send me an email with what she wanted. She has an interview coming up and chances are she will get the job. she is worried with suboxone coming up in her urinalysis.

I think most places have to test specifically for buprenorphine. Anyway, this is her question and I hope you guys can give me some responses for her

Can someone please tell me if Suboxone shows up on a urine test? IT IS FREAKING ME OUT. I may be starting a new job soon and i know i will have to give a drug test. So many people say it does not show up on drug test or test employers give but i just want to make sure. I only take the sub, as well all do to be clean of opiates but since i got sober 8 years ago from alcohol and drugs i have started drinking a little. Alcohol was never my thing but opiates were. I am prescribed opiates, percs for severe migraines and i do not even really care to take them but if i do not take the sub it does cross my mind and i think, well, it will be different this time and i will enjoy the buzz. I have gotten to the point i do not even want that so i just take about a 8mg daily. But again, MY MAIN QUESTION IS WILL SUBOXONE SHOW UP ON A DRUG TEST FOR AN EMPLOYER? Please someone who knows about this give me an honest answer. Thank you so much! Hope to hear back from someone soon. Just because i have read on a couple different forums that it does not i want to DOUBLE make sure.

From what I am seeing NO. I personally have no direct experience with it.

thank a lot. she is driving me nuts over a damn drug test that most employers wouldn't spend the money on the test they need to detect suboxone in the first place

They will only show if they are being specifically tested for. However, if you have a valid prescription, it is illegal to deny you employment because of a positive urine. Subox docs are very pricey though, so getting a valid script can be quite challenging. The med itself is very expensive too. It costs me $240 a month for 30 8mg strips at the pharmacy with no insurance.

If she has a script for percs then she should be covered if it were to show up on the drug screen. All she has to do is show them that script and say she took one for a headache sometime in the 3 days before the test
