Size 5? You are tiny! Nothing wrong with wanting to look good. If you pull it off, you sure end up feeling good! Ya know just dressing a little decent now and then goes a ways.

    Sorry, flag for off topic.

From what I read, it seems each of these meds have the highest probability of success if they are taken while you still have hair. In other words, it works best to help keep the hair you have rather than re-grow hair you've already lost.

When I was in my late twenties, I noticed that my hair began to fall out. At age 30, I started taking both propecia and rogaine. Now 12 years later (i just turned 42), I can attest that my hair loss has been almost non existent over the last 12 years. I say almost because, I know I'm going to lose it eventually but just wanted to slow it as much as possible.

Also, there are reports of negative sexual side affects with Propecia in the form of decreased libido. However, it is not a given that everyone will experience it. For myself, I haven't noticed any sexual side affects.

I think losing one's hair, aging and losing one's looks is life's way of forcing us to look deeper in life. When we are young and good looking, no matter how much we want to be better than caring about looks....it's usually kind of important to us but as we age and have to give up our attachment to our identity as "beautiful people" or even if we are not classically beautiful when we are young we still don't have all the sagging and wrinkles that, as it starts, makes us long for the days when we were just younger with tighter skin...and abs.

My stepson started losing his hair when he was 19 or 20. He's 24 now with a distinct receding hairline and a spot on the back top of his head where his hair is totally gone. That seems so young to be having to deal with this but he is a confident, intelligent young man with a wife and 4 month old baby and seems to have the world by the tail. It doesn't seem to affect him at all and when I look at him I don't see a guy losing his hair. I see an awesome young man I hope to be like when I grow up!

I started Propecia a year ago. It took 6 months to kick in but i can honestly say it makes a huge difference! I have not noticed any side effects at all from this stuff. It litterally transformed my hair. Just my 2 cents.

"Very well said @Crypto . I have personally in my
past, gone to perhaps extreme measures, 'but what I did, I do not give any advise". I began losing some hair after age 40, and
my hair began the "salt and pepper look" by my mid 40's. My new wife, was also 'VERY EXTREME" about ANY gray hair, she was
10 years younger than I, ( I am male, she is female) @Crypto ref post #20

I had two (2) very successful hair transplants, @ age 46 and age 50, "also dyed my hair, for 13.5 years in a row, "not one
gray hair, kept my BFI, and, used Gym and Yoga, to stay fit, weight/height around BFI 25. Very Expensive in USA,
"hair transplants were about I estimate US $5,000.00 cash in fist, "cosmetic surgery in USA most insurance company will
NOT pay a single penny. (That is 2 X $5,000.00)

Results: mixed bag, boost to my perhaps "fragile self esteem", strong positive results, such as reverse discrimination hiring,
due to being over "age 50" in a "extremely competitive field of occupation" with many co-employees 10 to 20 years younger
than I" Yes I do not regret the hair transplants, but you have to really deeply want them (and to afford this procedure) and
the "hair dying" can be long term "expensive" it was a monthly chore, with my trusted "hairdresser" many, many dollars to
keep my "hairdresser" happy camper !!!

I no longer dye my hair, now for several years. Saw my ex-spouse 1st time now in 8 years, ha! ha! lived 1,200 miles away
from me year round for 8 years in a row, 30 minute visit, she had "not one single gray hair" "to each his/her own" but, I
could see quite clearly she could pass for a Cindy Crawford, she looked 8 to 10 years more younger than when we divorced
in the year 2007. BFI like a model.

I see the other side of the coin ...it is a individual thing. I have good male friends who begin to lose their hair who shave
their head. It is still just a "individual thing". Maybe low self esteem vs normal self esteem? or maybe our western culture
depends too much or OBSESSED with always to look young??? IDK...... I am no longer in full time employment anymore so
I care less about hair dye, hair transplants or even over a decade of using "Pr0pecia" (finastEride) for hair loss.

Hair dresser much Less expensive !!! Good for me!! Again I take no issues pro or con, a individual thing, IMHO.

I wonder if going to Turkey for a hair transplant will save you money in the long run now.... I bet that it would....
